Fruits Of The Spirit For Students Sample
Congrats! You made it to our final day. We’re so proud of you and we hope these last several days helped you grow closer to our amazing God. Today we are going to talk about our final Fruit and it is a hard one: self-control. Self-control can be a struggle for most of us. It’s hard to do what God wants us to do when we don’t want to do it. Self-control allows us to actually take control over our thoughts and actions instead of just acting on our feelings at any given time
Challenge: Today we want you to practice self-control. Go ahead and grab a can of soda and shake it as hard as you can. What would happen if you opened the can right now? Would it make a mess? Have you ever felt like this can? Have you felt things building up inside of you until you wanted to explode? Have you ever been guilty of exploding? What happened? When we choose to explode instead of having self-control it makes a mess. God wants to help us not make a mess of our lives by having self-control. Now, we want you to wait 5 minutes and then enjoy the soda. Keep the can as a reminder to always choose to have self-control.
Prayer: Dear God, thank you for the past 10 days and for all that you taught me. Please help me to have self-control every day. Help me to choose to control my frustrations so I don’t make a mess in my life. AMEN.

About this Plan
How can we tell that we are growing in our relationship with God? One way is through the Fruits of the Spirit that appear in our lives when we are fully following Him. Fruits of the Spirit for Students was created by Collide, the middle school ministry of LCBC Church, to help students see ways that they should see God working in themselves.
