21 Days After CampSample
Power Over the Enemy
Have you ever felt overwhelmed by sin or circumstance? You are not alone. There have been countless times that I can remember praying to God, asking Him if there would ever be a day that I would be free from temptation, sin, and difficult times. Often times, it was right after camp as school began to start back up. Camp changed my life every year, yet I could feel the enemy attacking me. Each year, I would say, “This time is different. This time, I’m going to overcome.” Yet, the struggle ensued.
Winning the battle against the enemy is not impossible. In fact, Jesus says that, through Him, we have overcome the enemy (Luke 10:19). So why do we still struggle? The answer is simple. We have an enemy whose goal is to see our destruction. We also have a Savior who sacrificed His life for our redemption and freedom over the enemy. The key is to recognize where our strength and power come from.
As followers of Christ, we often lean on our own strength. For me, realizing how much I needed God was the beginning of my ability to resist temptation and overcome the enemy. The Holy Spirit became paramount in my walk with God. The more time I spent growing my faith, the more the Holy Spirit guided my thoughts and actions. The more you feed yourself spiritually, the more you will be able to overcome the enemy. Why? It’s because our strength comes from God and not from our own abilities. He is our Savior and our strength.
In what area of your life do you feel the Enemy is attacking you?
Are you fully giving these over to God and trusting the leading of the Holy Spirit?
