There's Hope For Today

DAY 297 OF 366

Jesus lived an intentional life. His movements were measured, yet He never seemed to be in a hurry. His purpose and His practice formed a perfect union. No life since has been lived so efficiently.

If you will study His life, you must consider how you conduct your own. Are you living life, or is life living you? Are you purposed or pointless? Are you proactive or reactive? Is your hand on the rudder, or are you lashed to the mast?

Satan gets great mileage out of discouragements and distractions. We’re often surprised that trouble seems to come in bunches, but that is just how the devil works. Multiple attacks at unprotected moments leave us reeling like a punch-drunk fighter. We expected sunshine, but we got a blizzard. We expected happiness, not a hassle. We expected an easy walk in the park, but the park turned into a jungle, and the walk turned into a chase.

It’s true that trouble comes in twins and triplets. Multiple distractions rob us of a singular focus. A singular focus for Christ is the devil’s worst nightmare.

Live an intentional life. Pursue a godly purpose. Don’t let anything come between you and the great commandment (Matthew 22:37) or the great commission (28:19).
