Today we’re reading one of the most well known and popular Psalms! A favourite of many, this Psalm is short - just 6 verses - but packed full of truths about the Lord acting as our shepherd. Maybe you’ve read this many times before or maybe today is the first time. Take your time to read Psalm 23, two, three, or as many times as you need. Meditate on the words and let them refresh your soul today.

David knew that if he had the Lord, he lacked nothing. He had full confidence that the goodness and love of God would follow him all the days of his life. Think about how a shepherd cares for his or her sheep, provides for them, and protects them from danger. This is how the Lord cares for us. Does this mean our lives will be free of problems? No. But we can take comfort in the knowledge that the good Shepherd walks with us, giving guidance and comfort when we need it.

GO DEEP: Remind yourself of verse 6. Are you confident that the goodness and love of God will follow you all the days of your life? If so, spend some time thanking and praising Him for that today! If you're not sure, invite the Lord to minister to you, allowing His truth to refresh your soul.
