Trust in the Name

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our
God.” (v. 7)

Where is your trust today? Maybe it’s not in horses or chariots, but perhaps your trust and confidence is in yourself, others, or in things. You might rely on material possessions, money, or skills. As stable and as certain these things might seem, it’s possible that they will let you down someday. We have good news, though. While the things here on earth might let us down, it is the Lord who gives victory. He is faithful to answer when we call, and He is more powerful than anything you could put your trust in on earth.

It’s easy to trust when everything is going our way, but what about when things get difficult? Fear and hard times expose where our trust really is. What is your first reaction when you face a challenge? Who or what do you turn to first? Put your trust in the name of the Lord today. He will answer you when you are in distress. He will help you when you fall. He will lead you to victory, and He can be trusted.

GO DEEP: Where is your trust today? Who or what do you turn to when life gets tough? Think about the things you want to give over to God today, and make a list of "I will trust" statements. E.g. "I will trust God with my future. I will trust God when life is difficult", etc.
