Renew Your Mind

A MIND FOR GOD

This week we are going to go deep and discover how we can make a positive shift in our hearts and minds, which will affect our relationships with God, ourselves, other people, and even our circumstances.

You might think that your heart is the engine of your body. In purely physical terms, that is true. The heart is the muscle that pumps the blood needed to keep your body in business. Mechanically speaking, the heart is your motor. Without your heartbeat, you would cease to exist.

However, when moving your desires and intentions forward, your mind takes on that function. The desires of your heart are like fuel that must be fed into an engine (your mind), or your life will constantly backfire.

The same is true in our relationship with God: He can work in our hearts, but if our minds aren’t being changed as well, we may not make as much progress as we’d like.

We all are offered the power to transform ourselves and our circumstances – but first, it will cost us our minds.

Our minds have the potential to harness a tremendous amount of transforming power. In Romans 12:2, the apostle Paul reminds us how we are to filter our minds’ strength. Transform is defined as making “a thorough or dramatic change in the form, appearance, or character of.”

To be transformed. Who doesn’t want that? If you started this plan, I bet you are looking for some type of change. But, I strongly urge you not to seek transformation for the approval of others. This is a quick way to a dead end! You must desire change for God and from God alone, for His glory and your joy.

Reflect:

What does God want for your health and well-being? How does Satan seek to destroy that plan in your mind?
