Lent: The Journey of Letting Go

DAY 32 OF 40

Week 5: Death and Grief

Theme: Dying to Self for New Life – Embrace the spiritual reality of letting go of the old to make room for resurrection and renewal.

Focus Scripture: John 12:24 – “Unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.”

Connect: Sometimes life feels so broken that it’s hard to imagine things ever getting better. What would it mean to believe that even in the darkest moments, there’s hope for renewal and healing?

Engage: Ezekiel 37 paints a beautiful picture of God’s ability to restore what seems lost forever. In a time when His people felt scattered and broken, God spoke of gathering them together and making them whole. He promised to be their God and to care for them as His own. This vision is a reminder that no matter how hopeless things may seem, God’s power can bring life and renewal where we see only brokenness. It’s an invitation to trust that His plans are always bigger than our struggles and that His love can restore even the darkest places.

Apply: What’s one area of your life where you’re longing for God’s restoration? Take time to pray and ask Him to bring new life where there has been brokenness, trusting that His power is greater than any loss.

About this Plan

Lent: The Journey of Letting Go

Lent begins with a call to release control and embrace surrender. By letting go of the burdens we carry, we create space for God’s grace to bring renewal and transformation. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
