Lent: The Journey of Letting Go

DAY 36 OF 40

Week 6: Seeing with God’s Eyes

Focus: Learning to see the world as God does and living in hope, renewal, and restoration.

Connect: Have you ever made a promise to God that you couldn’t keep? Maybe you told Him you’d trust Him more, pray more, or live differently, only to fall back into old habits.

Peter, one of Jesus’ closest disciples, boldly declared, “I will lay down my life for you.” But Jesus knew Peter’s heart better than Peter knew himself. Instead of condemning him, Jesus responded with truth and love, telling Peter that before the rooster crowed, he would deny Him three times.

Peter had good intentions, but when pressure and fear set in, he faltered. Maybe you’ve been there—wanting to follow Jesus but struggling with doubts, weakness, or failure. The good news is that Jesus’ love isn’t dependent on our perfection.

Engage: Peter’s story didn’t fail. Jesus restored him. Even after his denial, Jesus pursued Peter, offering him grace and a fresh start.

God doesn’t measure our worth by our successes or failures—He looks at our hearts. He calls us back, reminding us that His love is greater than our mistakes. When we see ourselves as God sees us, we can stop striving for perfection and instead rest in His grace and redemption.

Apply: Have you ever felt like you failed God? Maybe you’ve struggled with doubt, fear, or regret. Today, take a moment to surrender those burdens to Jesus. Ask Him to restore your heart, just as He did with Peter, and trust that His grace is always enough.

About this Plan

Lent: The Journey of Letting Go

Lent begins with a call to release control and embrace surrender. By letting go of the burdens we carry, we create space for God’s grace to bring renewal and transformation. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
