Week 5: Death and Grief

Theme: Dying to Self for New Life – Embrace the spiritual reality of letting go of the old to make room for resurrection and renewal.

Focus Scripture: John 12:24 – “Unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.”

Connect: Standing firm in your beliefs can sometimes feel isolating or overwhelming. When the pressure to compromise is strong, what gives you the courage to stay true to what matters most?

Engage: Jeremiah faced rejection and threats for speaking God’s truth, but he didn’t let that stop him. In Jeremiah 20, he cries out to God, trusting that God is his defender and deliverer. Jeremiah’s story reminds us that following God often comes with challenges, but it also comes with the promise of His presence and victory. Dying to the need for approval opens us to a deeper trust in God’s faithfulness.

Apply: Where do you feel pressure to compromise your faith or values? Bring that situation to God in prayer and ask for His strength to stand firm, trusting that He is with you.
