THE FAMILY THAT SERVES JESUS

There are so many choices that this life is offering us every day. God created man with this free will and because of that, man is free to make his decisions. God didn’t create man with a program like a robot, that can be controlled with a remote control. Nor did God make man like a puppet that can be controlled by the mastermind. God created man in His image.

Joshua, as the leader of the Israelites, decided that he and his household would worship only God. Joshua set a good example for the Israelites. The statement Joshua made before the house of Israel was showing his commitment and determination was not negotiable. As the head of family, Joshua knew his responsibility to lead his household to faithfully serve and worship the Lord God, the living God, that had saved, cared for, and blessed his life.

As a Christian parent, we can follow the commitment of Joshua, especially as the head of his family, to lead them to know and experience a personal encounter with Him to be their God and Savior. This is important because salvation and eternal life can be found only in Jesus. The head of a family is not only responsible for fulfilling the material needs of his family, but also for fulfilling their spiritual needs. He needs to lead the family to grow mature in faith, truth, love and faithfulness.

The biggest decision in life is whether we want to follow Jesus or deny Him.
