How To Follow JesusSample

Disciples copy Jesus.

When Jesus chose His first disciples, He showed them some of His power so they could see He was from God. Then He simply said, “Don’t be afraid. From now on you will catch people.” They knew how to catch fish, but they didn’t know how to catch people for Jesus!

They learned by leaving everything else behind and following Jesus’ example. They listened to Him, spent time with Him, and did everything He did. The more time they spent with Jesus, the better they got at following Jesus’ example and sharing it with others.

You can follow Jesus’ example, too! Learn what kind of example He set by reading the true story of His life in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in the Bible. You can also learn about Jesus by listening to teachers and leaders, and by talking to people who have followed Jesus for a long time. But that’s just the first step! Do like Jesus’ first disciples did, and follow His example. Look at Jesus, what He did, what He said, and do it in your life, too.
