Drowning in Doubt?Sample
It’s Human to Have Doubts
Contrary to what many believe, it is not sinful or disobedient to experience doubts—it is a part of being human. Today’s Scripture acknowledges what happens in our lives may feel confusing. That is understandable. We simply cannot always see what God is doing or how He is working on our behalf.
In Romans 8:24-25, the Apostle Paul writes, "For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance." In other words, the very foundation of faith is believing what we cannot see. One day we will experience all of the love, joy, and peace Jesus promised us for eternity! One day we will see clearly all that God has for us. Until then, we know in part—but with God's help we wait with hope.
Spend a few minutes thinking about the things that just do not make sense to you right now. What obstacles are shaking your faith? How can you wait with perseverance for God to reveal the next step?
As you engage with God’s Word:
● What is God saying to me?
● What does it mean to me?
● How can I apply what God is teaching me?
● How can I be specific in prayer today?
After you reflect on these questions, bring everything to God in prayer.
