Overcome the Mind Ambush - 5 Steps to Find Peace in the Noise

DAY 4 OF 5

Blessing Your Body

At some point in my journey, I came to recognise great value in taking about an hour a day to go for a walk and enjoy a new, beautiful place of connection and communion with the Lord. On a practical, physical health level, it helped to get oxygen into my lungs, stretch my body, to clear my mind, and to have my heart pumping. Which in turn created a space for settledness and a quietening in my spirit.

It was in these moments that my internal world met with the presence of the Lord and His peace. Then I began to notice that the spirit of Wisdom would begin to flow within me, and I would start to see, know, and understand things that were happening in my life that I didn’t see, know, or understand before.

It was like these daily walking moments started to illuminate my spiritual eyes to see and my ears to hear. How was this happening? What was it about walking that was making a difference to my spiritual world?

I came to see that my walking and taking good care of my body was actually praise and worship unto my King. Here I was honouring that space of being fearfully and wonderfully made and I now had a tangible, relatable experience with this scripture:

“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvellous are your works, and that my soul knows very well.” Psalm 139:14 NKJV

Now that might seem a little ‘out there’ for some but when we realise that our bodies are a temple of the Lord, we start to acknowledge a new space for revelation flow.

Imagine Holy Spirit within you. He’s excitedly looking out at the world through your eyes, and He sees that you’ve taken time in your day to bless your body through exercise, walking, or self-care for example. You are caring for the very vessel that houses His presence. By doing so, it ignites a level of praise from within you and your soul connects to the part of you that is valuing how you were made.

You see, overcoming the mind ambush doesn’t have to be a weighty, serious activity. Rather, there is a place for enJOYment to happen in the way you value who you are and who you are becoming.

Activation:

Today, take a moment to check in with your body and ask these 3 questions.

How are you caring for your body?

Do you need to make some changes to your daily routine to include some exercise and self-care?

How does the Lord want to commune within you?

Declarations:

The Lord will illuminate before me the path that leads to peace. Luke 1:79

Today, peace is within my reach! Luke 19:42
