Where Was God Today?

I’ve heard it said, “Where your attention goes, your energy flows.”

The thing with the noise that we experience is that it has a way of consuming you. Your thoughts, your actions, your awareness and your energy are all tied up in the noise and how it’s occupying space within you.

That’s why it can be hard sometimes to communicate with someone who is stuck in their head! That was me right there, I’m the first to put my hand up for being ‘that’ kind of person.

So, you are here because there is a part of you that wants to know how to overcome the mind ambush that overwhelms, to break free from the noise and to live a peaceful life, right?

Well, the key is to turn our attention to the very one who breaths us, the one who gives us life. But when you’ve spent time in the deep depths of overwhelming noise, that can feel like a challenge. You can feel stuck in those old thought paradigms because you know the familiar arguments and you know the feelings and you often feel a sense of comfort in those spaces.

When the part of you who is seeking to grow and create different results decides that it’s no longer fun to be drained of energy and exhausted by limiting, noisy thoughts, it’s time then to do something new. This is the question that will help you open the door to new, life-giving, energising thought spaces.

“Where was God today?”

This question is a life saver. It will literally have you playing a ‘Where’s Wally’ type game with Holy Spirit to FIND GOD and to identify the many varied, and wonderful ways He showed up in your day.

Maybe a friend sent you an encouraging text message. Maybe you saw a butterfly playfully fly right past you at lunch. Maybe it was the way in which your daughter looked in your eyes and said, “I love you.” Maybe it was the gentleman who opened the door for you at the store as you walked in. Maybe it was that sign that looked like it was illuminated in the middle of the day that read “Freedom!”

Take the time to answer this question every evening, and then tell me how happy, peaceful, and delighted you feel at knowing the answer.

Activation:

As you climb into bed tonight, stop for a moment and ask yourself, “Where was God today?”

Close your eyes, take a deep breath, watch, listen and know, as God reveals to you where He was and how He was moving and present in your day.

Then take a moment to journal all that He reveals.
