Becoming a Son That Pleases the Father

DAY 14 OF 30

ALL THE WAY WITH THE FATHER’S WILL

Hebrews 10:7

7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

Apostle Paul made the above statement about the Lord Jesus Christ’s submission to the will of the Father. A similar act also made Apostle Paul’s ministry powerful. At the beginning of his obedience, when he first encountered the Lord, Paul asked, “Lord, what wilt thou have me to do” (Act. 9:6)? In other words, Paul asked the Lord, “What is Your will for me? Show me your will, Lord, and I am going to do it.”

A Christian that is going to please the Father must be open and honest with Him. Have the mindset that is always open to know the will of the Father and yield to it whenever the Holy Spirit reveals it to you. This is not something you can easily acquire over time; it is the result of a life of surrender to the mould of God. Obedience to the will of God is not what you just pay lip service to, but what you think deeply about and decide deliberately for.

A decision for the will of God can be likened to what happens during a marriage ceremony. Marriage is not to be rushed into carelessly but should be thought deeply about before getting involved. This is why I always counsel that intending couples should not marry without proper counselling.

PRAYER: Lord, show me where I fit into Your plan. Teach me the way I ought to go, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
