Becoming a Son That Pleases the FatherSýnishorn
DECISIONS OF A SON THAT PLEASES THE FATHER
John 5:30
30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
First, I want you to pledge to God at this point. Let Him know that you will do His will in any situation once He shows you. This pledge will show you steps towards becoming the son who gives the Father pleasure. At this juncture, I want you to make concrete decisions that will set you on the path of becoming a son that pleases the Father. Decide to do God’s will whenever you become aware of it in your thoughts, words, and actions.
Second, secure the pleasure of the Father by deciding to go with faith whenever you have to choose between faith and fear. Make that decision today. Decide to take a step of faith. Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, I have decided not to turn back in fear whether God see me through or not. Will it be easy? Absolutely not! You will have to engage in a fight of faith to live a life of faith. You may need medications when you are ill, but you must ensure that fear is not driving your decision to take the medicine. Let God know that you will not let the spirit of fear rule you.
Finally, the third decision to make is to lay your most critical prayer request down at Christ’s feet. Let God know that nothing will affect your love for Him or your relationship with Him, not even unanswered prayers. Decide that you will not let the devil scare you again with the fear of unanswered prayers. Whenever prayer seems unanswered, you will trust that God is at work and He has prepared for you, exceeding, abundantly, above all you could ever ask or think. That was the experience of Jesus, and it can be your experience too.
PRAYER: Father, I commit to going after Your will, I commit to living by faith, not by fear, and I commit to laying my request down at Your feet, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
