Harvest Thanksgiving All Year Round!

DAY 3 OF 7

COME INTO HIS PRESENCE WITH THANKSGIVING!

"Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods." Psalm 95:1-3

Some people wake up with a smile, eager for their feet to hit the floor! Others cover their heads at the first sign of daylight and sigh, with thoughts of not wanting to face the day.

One thing I hope we all learn through this devotional is that every minute we are awake, we have the great privilege and opportunity to be in the presence of God! How do I know that? Because at calvary, the veil ripped from top to bottom when the earth shook, allowing us to come before the throne boldly. Jesus' death on the cross gained us access to His presence! We no longer need the priest to go in; you and I have free entry!

The moment we wake each morning, the moment we see His light shining through our windows, the moment we see the sky or hear a bird chirping, we are in some form of His presence, for He created all things. How are we to greet the Lord? The scripture tells us to sing, make a joyful noise, and come into His presence with what? With thanksgiving!

TODAY'S EXERCISE:

• If you have a grumpy morning nature, nip it in the bud!

• Practice smiling before morning coffee or tea.

• Greet your loved ones cheerfully and try thanking them for something.

• Make some joyful noises when driving to work or the grocery.

About this Plan

Harvest Thanksgiving All Year Round!

I am amazed at the lessons we can learn from other cultures! Some seem to have less materially, yet they exude a deep sense of thanksgiving and joy! I don’t know about you, but I want thanksgiving and joy to be such a part of me that it is as easy as breathing! In this plan, we will discover how to make the season of thanksgiving a daily practice!
