Experiencing God in the Secret PlaceSýnishorn
Get away from the noise.
There’s something I believe we do far too often...We miss out on the peace that we could be having! Don’t you want to change that right away?
When you’re sick and need medicine, the doctor often tells you, “Do not take this on an empty stomach.” In the same way, you should be careful not to take your concerns, life struggles, bad news, etc., on an empty stomach.
The thing you so desperately need is time with God. I’m sure you have heard this many times. Depending on what type of person you are, it may come easily for you or sound rather complicated.
So I’d like to tell you how I do it. I have a little soundproof room where I usually do my recordings for A Miracle Every Day.
As soon as I walk into that room, my ears almost close up because of the soundproofing and acoustic absorbers on the wall. But that’s a good thing because my ears are closed to the outside world's noise and open to what God wants to say.
When your ears are open to what God is saying, you start seeing your fears, worries, and concerns in a completely different light.
In this room, I start my day. In this room, I thank God for all He has done. In this room, I pray for you. But in this room, I sometimes cry and say, “I don’t understand what’s going on right now, God…please show me!”
And sometimes, I just sit there in front of my Bible and ask Him to give me a verse to carry me through the day.
What’s certain is that I always leave this room changed. Because in this time, I find the peace that can only be found with God.
My friend, don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray! Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, and let God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life (see Philippians 4:6-7).
This is the peace that God wants to give you at all times! Don’t miss out on it!
You’re a miracle!
