Remain Connected

Jesus does not simply require that we believe in him casually. He wants us to live intimately joined with him, grafted into his nature. We need to do nothing on our own. In fact, we cannot bear any lasting fruit apart from him. The answer to reflecting Christ is not to work harder; it is to fellowship with him. When we give up our striving, we can simply receive what he offers us and go from there.

Let your focus come back to the relationship between you and God today. Instead of getting caught up in what you should do for him, spend time in his presence with him. Consider the difference between running on a battery and plugging straight into a power source. One will fade with time, while the other will continue to feed off the energy of the source. There’s no need to run low today. Plug into the source of true life.

Jesus, I let go of my need to prove myself, and instead, I rest in you. I let you do what only you can do in and through me. I am yours.
