SHEDDING TO SHIFT

Our posture is easily affected or altered when we are weighed down with too much baggage. That would include physical bags (luggage, shopping) and spiritual bags (emotional issues). As sons and daughters of the King, there is a posture of confidence that lets the enemy know whose we are. We can correct our royal posture when we shed excess weight. It is not the will of God for us to be crushed down by the cares of this world. That is why the Word says to cast our cares upon the Lord. Our ability to move forward and upward will be determined by the weight we carry. I'm not talking about physical weight... I'm talking about spiritual and emotional weight.

Think about an aircraft; there is a weight limit. The performance of any aircraft can be compromised by overextending the weight limitation. The same applies to the emotional burden of unforgiveness, guilt, and shame. These can impede our forward movement. Research findings suggest that negative emotions, be they mental, emotional, or physical, can adversely affect our health and narrow our capacity to live an abundant life as promised through Christ Jesus. Shedding the excess permits our ability to shift. So, if you've been holding on to shame and everything attached to it (unforgiveness, lies, insecurities, fear, regret), today is your shedding day. Carry all of it to God in prayer and leave it there.

The Samaritan woman in John 4 had an encounter with Jesus that transformed her life. In her awakening, she not only recognized who Jesus was, but she also gained a revelation of who she was because of Him. There is where her freedom began, and the shift happened. There is no freedom outside of a relationship with God. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Remember, we sabotage our ability to ascend to the height of God's calling when holding on to guilt and shame. If you desire to experience peace that surpasses all understanding and indescribable joy, it is essential to accept your birthright as a child of God, release any feelings of shame and all negative attachments, and get ready for a transformative shift.
