Thriving in Your Singleness Part TwoIhe Atụ
Day 4
Courting with Purpose
I'm not big on dating; I prefer courting. Not every option is a suitable candidate for your future. Let's be real, some dating options are disguised in a big ole DISTRACTION. In this pandemic, believe me when I say everyone has time! Be careful about who you are investing your time and energy with.
Being with “the wrong one” can deter your vision, devastate your future, and distract you from your God-given purpose. Getting married to “just anyone” is an easy thing to do.
How about doing something more challenging, and waiting a little longer for the person who complements your calling?
We live in a generation where everyone says we need to date. They say things like, “get out and meet people,” “you should join online dating,” or “let me hook you up with someone.” Your family members ask you from time to time, “are you dating anyone?” Your girlfriends will push you to date people. Your guy friends will tell you that you are too picky and your standards are too high. Wait for your God-given mate.
When God puts a mandate on your life, you can't date just anyone. When God gives you a clear vision and assignment for your life, you have to silence the chatter of others and submit to God. God is looking to give you wisdom and instructions for your assignment.
God will connect two people for marriage for His glory. Your God-given mate will know that you are the one! No games, confusion, or stringing you along. God took Adam’s rib as a reminder that the woman was created to be beside him. Two people are called to complement one another in marriage.
While the good thing is always attainable, wait for the GOD thing. It will be worth the wait! Sooner or later, you won’t have to go on this purpose journey alone. You are closer than you think.
Today’s Assignment: Write a vision and mission statement for your future marriage.
