We keep hearing the word ‘wonderful’ so many times, that we have lost the wonder of it. Days are wonderful, vacations are wonderful, clothes are wonderful, people are wonderful and even food is wonderful.

When my husband, once, gave me a note saying, “You are wonderful!”, I smiled and thought it just a romantic note. It was only later when he explained its meaning to me, did I realise that he had paid me the highest compliment !

He said, “One of the names of Jesus is Wonderful and because I saw something of our Lord Jesus in you, I felt like saying that you are wonderful.” Now that was huge!

Judges 13:18 And the Angel of the Lord said to him, “Why do you ask My name, seeing it is wonderful?”

Our God is wonderful because He does awesome wonders. Jesus’ birth was full of wonder: Mary wondered at what the angel said, the people wondered at what the shepherds said, and the king wondered at what the wise men said. It was something to wonder at—God was made manifest in the flesh!

He was wonderful in His life. He performed so many signs, wonders and miracles. People were filled with wonder at His teachings.

His death was full of wonder as the people experienced darkness, felt the earthquake, saw the veil of the temple torn, and witnessed the Lamb of God take on their sin. His death was wonderful as it brought us life.

His Resurrection was full of wonder; it was a marvellous victory over death and the grave. And all these things are wonderful because He is Wonderful. It’s Who He is, and it’s what He does

Isaiah 25:1 O Lord, You are my God, I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things.

Let’s pray:

Pray for the upcoming elections in India. Pray that the administration would be corruption free in the nation

Pray that a righteous God-fearing Government would come into power

Thank God for all the leaders of our nation. Pray they would be wise and work for the good of the people and the nation
