Taste and See

DAY 1 OF 3

TASTE THAT THE LORD IS GOOD

The psalmist invites us to experience God’s goodness in a personal way: “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” This isn’t just an intellectual understanding; it’s a call to encounter God’s goodness firsthand.

God’s Goodness is Tangible
Tasting engages all our senses. Just as we savor food, we’re called to savor God’s presence and blessings. Psalm 34:8 encourages us to personally experience His goodness, not just hear about it. Jesus offers Himself as the Bread of Life John 6:35 — the true satisfaction for our souls. To “taste and see” is to come to Jesus and realize that what He offers is far more fulfilling than anything else.

God’s Goodness is Found in Relationship
To truly taste that the Lord is good, we must engage in a relationship with Him. It’s not enough to recognize His goodness from afar. Through prayer, worship, and reading His Word, we come to know Him more deeply. Jesus invites us to remain in Him (John 15:5), where we bear fruit and experience His goodness.

Application: How can you create space in your daily life to taste the goodness of God? How can we “remain in Him” whether through prayer, worship, or spending time in His Word, and how do you think this will deepen your relationship with Him?
