God's Best for You

DAY 4 OF 7

All your life you shall experience goodness!

When I received a request to appear among some very well-known TV hosts, I was thrilled! But then I was told, in an aside, "You don't have to speak so strongly about faith here."

The restlessness in my heart grew and grew. "All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep His covenant and His testimonies." (Psalm 25:10, ESV) I couldn't make that compromise. I canceled.

I don't know how you felt just now when you read the title, "All your life you shall experience goodness!" You might have thought, "I haven't seen that much of it yet..."

Something in your life may seem extremely tempting, just like the gig opportunity I had, but then you're faced with a choice: you'll get the job, but only if you compromise. Or you'll have a choice to make between obeying God and doing something you were so eager to do, something you thought would've been really good for you.

But what is "good"? What is "best for your life"? Have you ever asked yourself that? In the Psalms, we read about the person who fears God: "His soul will dwell in prosperity and goodness…" (Psalm 25:13, AMP).

God wants to give you the best for your life in the form of peace, His peace in your soul!

When God takes away things, removes opportunities, or even allows part of your health to be taken, it doesn't mean that He wants to take good things away from you. Maybe He wants to turn your gaze in another direction to show you how much good He wants to give you!

One thing is certain: God wants to give you good, and in Him, your soul shall dwell in good!

You are a miracle!

Déborah

P.S. I can tell you that after I said "no," there were other requests for gigs that I didn't have to compromise on, opportunities that were indeed "the best" for me!
