God's Best for You

DAY 3 OF 7

Beware of the red light!

I almost missed a red light on my driving test, and you know what that means…I wouldn't have gotten my driver's license!

Traffic lights—they're everywhere! It makes us happy when we're on the road and all the traffic lights are green, but that doesn't happen all the time. The lights are there to tell us ahead of time that we should stop to avoid accidents and major damage.

Even though red lights can annoy us, we're also aware that they are for our own good. Otherwise, we'd just keep driving, wouldn't we?

It's the same with God! Because He has your best interests at heart, but not everything is for your best, He has to put up a red light in your life every now and then.

You wanted that job so badly, but you got a rejection? You were so in love, but the relationship fell apart? Your planned vacation fell through again? The funds in your bank account haven't been this low for a long time?

All of this looks negative at first, but you don't know everything that's hidden behind this red light. You do not see what God sees. But you can trust that what He does is always right!

"Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens…" (James 1:17, NLT).

It's true that whether you trust or not is your decision, but it's a decision that will fundamentally change your life! Even the worst day will hold something good for you if you trust that God always means well concerning you.

Life without red lights would be uncontrolled chaos filled with danger. Let's thank God for the many times He has slowed us down in the past!

I encourage you to choose to trust Him now as you face the next red light…because He absolutely has your best interests at heart!

You are a miracle!
