Psalms Of Praise And The Word

DAY 1 OF 10

I Am Prayer

Heartfelt prayer is a gateway into the courts of heaven. Never forget that you and I are the adopted sons and daughters of the High King of heaven. We are, by God’s grace, kings and lords. When we start to pray in the Spirit, heaven’s door opens and we are shown glorious things in the throne room of God. This was David’s experience in Psalm 110, the Old Testament passage most quoted by the New Testament authors.

In the spirit of prayer, David sees the Father and the Son in heaven (Jehovah God and the Lord Messiah), and he hears the Father telling his Son that all enemies will one day be under his footstool. David calls the Messiah, “Adonai,” which means “Lord of Lords.” We are the lords over whom Jesus is Lord! As we grow in prayer, we see more and more who Christ is, and we catch a glimpse of who we are in Christ as well.

The Father loves it when we converse with him naturally, honestly, and passionately. In what ways could you become more raw and real in prayer?

About this Plan

Psalms Of Praise And The Word

The Psalms find the words that express our deepest and strongest emotions, no matter what the circumstances. These devotions, inspired by The Passion Translation Psalms: Poetry on Fire, combined with the daily readings, will turn sighing into singing and trouble into triumph. This 10–day reading plan includes the Psalms of praise and the Word spanning Psalms 107-150.
