Prophecy: Jesus & His Birth - Preparing For Christmas Series #2નમૂનો
A messenger prepares the way for the Messiah
Thoughts on the Passage
With the birth of a king, there is also a forerunner. For Jesus it was John the Baptist.
John was born for one purpose – to announce the coming of the Messiah. He was filled with God’s Spirit before he was born and continued with a message to God’s people to get ready for the Messiah. In Isaiah and Malachi, we see his messages. These messages had a lot of urgencies, large expectations, and great clarity.
Urgency. The Messiah is here, get your heart ready – now!
Large expectations. EVERY valley – filled. EVERY mountain – leveled. EVERY rough place – made smooth.
Great clarity. God’s glory will be revealed.
Even today, this message is still the same. As we approach the day we celebrate Jesus’ birth, we say again to our world, “Get ready, the Saviour has been born.”
Time to Pray
Father, our hearts need to be prepared even this year. We have an opportunity to again welcome the Saviour of all people. Today, we stop and take time to heed the message of Your messenger about Jesus’ coming. Are there any mountains (obstacles too great for us)? Are there any valleys (places that draw us into failure)? Are there any rough places (places where sin is causing us to stumble)? Father, show us and then help us to deal with them so that we can welcome Jesus afresh this year. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
About this Plan
God prepared the world for Jesus the Messiah right from the very beginning. He made sure His world knew ahead of time that the Messiah was coming. This is 2 of 3 devotionals that give the prophetic pronouncements of the Messiah – and how they were fulfilled. This devotional shows the prophecies of the events leading up to and those surrounding His birth.
