I love how this BibleProject video ends in a place of invitation, it states, "So the Gospel authors don't just want their readers to know about the good news of God's Kingdom they want them to become a part of it."

In this passage, we can see how a rag tag group of misfits are sent by Jesus to participate in the powerful, life-changing work of God. Sometimes we incorrectly think, "How could God use me?", "I can't speak good", "I haven't been to seminary", "I didn't grow up in the church"...or whatever other excuse we can come up with...

But then, look at this list of the twelve people Jesus called to follow Him, the twelve people he entrusted to share the good news of the Gospel of the Kingdom. Simon was a zealot. James and John had authority issues. Thomas was a doubter. Matthew was a tax collector. Most of these guys were fishermen! They probably smelled just as bad as they spoke! Yet, Jesus gave them authority and sent them out. He sent them out with practically nothing...except the Gospel of the Kingdom!

Let that sit with you for a minute as you reflect on his call in your life
