Day One 

Everything’s a Gift - We always celebrate and practice thankfulness!  We choose to focus on how great God is, are thankful for everything in our lives, and for the people around us. 

READ:

‘Jacob's Dream’ in Genesis 28:10-22

Jacob had a long journey to travel as his uncle lived far away. 

Jacob  was very tired so he lay down on the floor to sleep, He used a small pile of stones as a pillow. 

ASK:

Genesis is the very first book in the bible. It tells us about the beginning of the universe and was written a long before Jesus is born. 

In the book of Genesis we meet many wonderful people and Jacob is one of them.

Jacob had to walk to his uncle’s home. In that time there were no trains, planes or buses to travel on. It would take Jacob many days to get to his Uncle Laban’s home. 

Have you ever thought about how wonderful it is that people are able to travel so easily and so far today? Did you know that God created the people who made it possible for us to travel so easily.  

Can you think of a way to say thank you to God for giving us people who have made travel so easy for us? 

REMEMBER:

Psalm 9:1 

I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;  I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.

SAY:

My God is good, 

He is awesome and great.

He helps me be strong,

Even when I’m afraid. 

I will say thank you,

For all He has done.

For me and my people, 

He loves everyone.
