Whose Am I?

DAY 5 OF 7

Watched and Heard

Peter has just described several graces that reflect the love of Christ in the life of believers.

Christians are to be like-minded and sympathetic, showing brotherly love, compassion, and humility. They “don’t repay evil for evil” and “don’t retaliate with insults” instead, they “pay them back" with a blessing. Christians who emulate these characteristics enjoy spiritual blessings and favor from the Lord.

The phrase eyes of the Lord are on the righteous reminds us that God is omniscient and sovereign over all creation. God knows everything and sees all people, both the evil and the righteous. It also reminds us the Lord’s presence is always with us and sees every step His children take.

God is attentive to our prayer. His ear is inclined to the prayer of His children. When we talk to our heavenly Father, we demonstrate our faith in Him and our humble acceptance of His sovereignty. We have a God who understands our problems, our struggles and wants to help us!

Imagine that! The sovereign God of the entire universe watches over you and is interested in your prayer.

You matter!

Thank you, Lord, that you watch over me and listen to my cry.

About this Plan

Whose Am I?

You and I do not get to choose our human families. Some of us are blessed with great families, while many of us are not. And yet, every one of us can be part of God’s divine family. We have a Heavenly Father, who loves us unconditionally and invites each of us into His family. Explore further through this seven-day plan from Find Rest My Soul by Preethi Alice Jacob.
