What Are We Celebrating?
Luke 15:23, 24
“…‘Let’s have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.”
The heart of God is to celebrate at the conversion and transformation of his children. When we allow God’s compassion and love for the lost people to grab our hearts, we too will celebrate at their return to the Father. Perhaps the measure of our love for lost people is the degree to which we celebrate their return to the Father.
We celebrate what we truly love: our children, our sports teams, our friends…what about the salvation of lost people who return to their Creator and Father?
Father God, thank you that you celebrated at my return to you. Fill me with your love and compassion for lost people and the joy of their return.
