Listening To The Word - 1 YearSample
From Everlasting to Everlasting
Psalm 103:15-17
“As for man, his days are like grass, he flourishes like a flower of the field, the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him…”
1 Peter 3:8
“With the Lord, a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years are like a day…”
The beauty and yet the fragility of flowers is a picture of our lives in the scope of eternity. We are passing through and our significance is not based on the beauty of the flower but rather whether we know our Creator and live for His eternal glory. Our Creator God is from everlasting to everlasting and His love for us is also eternal. Our significance is found in responding to this love and sharing it with others, that they too could know God. Our lives here on earth will soon end, but for those who know the Lord’s love, they will live from everlasting to everlasting.
Lord God Almighty, I am humbled that you would love me and desire to know me. You are eternal, I am temporal. Thank you for filling me with your love and your Spirit that we would be united forever.
