Humility and Wisdom
Proverbs 28:26, 11
“He who trusts in himself is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom is kept safe.
A rich man may be wise in his own eyes, but a poor man who has discernment sees through him.”
Wisdom is a path we follow in life, but it requires that we transfer our trust to the Creator of all things and walk in his way. Those who trust in themselves believe that they have no need of any other authority in their lives. It is easier to rely on ourselves and live for ourselves when we have great wealth. But even a poor man with discernment can see through that kind of approach to life. Wisdom begins with the fear, respect and honor of the Creator of the universe. Knowing the living God through his Son, Jesus Christ, teaches us wisdom and discernment in life.
Lord Jesus, teach me your wisdom this day. I humble myself before you.
