God’s Peace Plan
Ephesians 2:14-18
“For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility . . . His purpose was to create one new man out of two, thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one spirit.”
God’s peace plan for each individual heart, each family in conflict, each community, each nation, each regional conflict, is found in his son Jesus Christ. Jesus has paid the price for our sin, and put to death our hostility on the cross. Receiving Christ’s forgiveness and extending that forgiveness to others applies the victory of the cross to our conflicts. The living presence of Jesus is our peace. Those who have made peace with God through Jesus bring his peace with them wherever they go. We too proclaim this peace in Christ, as his peace ambassadors. Peace with Almighty Holy God, peace with one another, peace between cultures and peoples, is found in Jesus.
Lord Jesus, you are my peace this day. Fill me with your spirit and guide my words and thoughts for your glory this day.
