ON TOP: YOUR GUIDE TO HOLISTIC SEXUALITYSample
God Declares Sex is Good
You may be asking, "what is sex? Or “where did it come from?" And contrary to what you might have been told or come to believe based on experiences you've had with the world around you, sex was created by God from the very beginning of time.
In the book of Genesis, we see that God instructs human beings to “be fruitful and multiply” (cough, sex). And so, it's important for us to consider why God declared sex as good and also investigate what His plan for sex was.
More than just fun or because it feels good, sex was created by God to bring unity, pleasure, and procreation (read: To make babies) for his people.
As a teenager, it's important to understand that sex is good and healthy and that in the Christian tradition sex is regarded for marriage. Instead of seeing it as some outdated rule, we can instead shift our perspective and see how sacred and holy and incredibly powerful it is. And because of that, it needs to be understood and protected.
Over the next few days, we’re going to look at sex from a holistic perspective so that you are equipped with a greater understanding of sex and can make healthy choices. Sex is talked about throughout the Bible and it is okay to talk about.
Reflect:
- Based on the Scriptures you read today, when do you think God intended for people to have sex?
- As a Christian, what is the purpose of waiting until marriage?
