Winding Down With the Word

DAY 7 OF 7

DAY 7

If we read 1 Peter 5 verse 5, it talks about the younger generation needing to allow and accept the authority of the elders.

We all know how easy it is for us as human beings to think we know it all, and sometimes even shut off our heart to learning from someone else.

Don't get stuck in that cycle.

Pride is what got Lucifer (Satan) kicked out of heaven!

The Bible states that God opposes the proud. In another version it says God resists you when you are proud.

We don't want any of these scenarios in our life! We absolutely need God in every area of our life whether we believe we do or not.

We are not God. Therefore, we don't know it all and we must accept that fact.

There are so many people we can learn from.

Don't live a stagnate life and stunt your growth by being shut off to learning and growing.

Humility helps us realize that we are not enough, but God is.

True humility never leads to insecurity, because insecurity is actually a form of pride.

In our world, humility is often seen as a self-degrading concept that reveals our insecurities and keeps us from becoming our best selves.

This is not true.

Humility is often a risk. It might mean laying down our social standing, our reputation, our financial security, our sense of expertise...

But SURRENDERING our self-sufficiency allows us to embrace God's authority.

When we surrender ourselves to God, we allow Him to be glorified in and through our lives.

Humility might cost us something, but it leads to an abundant life with Christ!

Who doesn't want that?

In John 10:10 in the Passion Translation is says, "A thief has only one thing in mind-he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect-life in its fullness until you overflow!"

When we allow PRIDE into our life, we are essentially partnering with the devil.

When we walk with HUMILITY, we will live in this abundant life Jesus talks about in this verse above.

Jesus has provided the way to abundant living.

We just have to humble ourselves and receive His way of living.

Are you ready to lay the PRIDE down and do things Gods way?

The moment you partner with God and make it a priority to live with HUMILITY get ready for a SHIFT to happen in your life, for the better!

DECLARATION

I refuse to allow PRIDE to have a say in my life. I am made in the image of God and live a life of humility!

QUESTION

In what areas of life are you allowing PRIDE to have its way?

I encourage you to get quiet with the Lord and ask Him to reveal where PRIDE has snuck its way into your life, and then be quick to repent!
