Overcoming: Devotions from Time of Graceنموونە
Money and Trust
Our U.S. currency contains some lovely wishful thinking. Right above the image of the Lincoln Memorial on the back of the five-dollar bill, for instance, is the legend "In God We Trust." I fear a more honest legend would be "In Cash We Trust."
Whatever you lean on, wherever you put your final trust--that is your god. Nothing but the true God in heaven can bear the full weight of our hopes, our needs, and our troubles. When people lean on something else, it breaks under the weight, and then they break too.
In what do you trust most of all? Is it your money? Is it your own wits? Moses was generally a pretty good example of a hero of faith. But occasionally even he slid into "In God we doubt" mode. In Numbers 11:23, the Lord overhauled and rebuilt Moses' faith. "The LORD answered Moses, 'Is the Lord's arm too short? You will now see whether or not what I say will come true for you.'"
The more you center your life, your hopes, your values, and your trust around the Lord, the stronger your life will be. Today would be a good day to reorder your priorities.

About this Plan
In this reading plan Pastor Jeske will ask you to first reflect on the frustrations of your life, and then he will invite you also to see more clearly and rejoice at what God has been doing for you and through you.
