Fresh Startنموونە
When Jerusalem was ransacked by the Babylonians, the city’s walls were destroyed along with the city. In ancient times, a city was prone to attack if the walls were down. God’s city didn’t have walls? Disgraceful. At the time, Nehemiah got permission to leave his job in Persia and oversee the construction of Jerusalem’s walls. But as you can imagine, God’s enemies were none too pleased about it. They tried several times to distract Nehemiah, the construction leader, with some pretty convincing ploys. But no matter what they tried, Nehemiah would not be distracted (Nehemiah 6:3).
If God has called you to a task, be like Nehemiah. Put blinders on and do the work. Be single-minded about it. If you are a mom or a dad or a grandma or a grandpa, you can’t be replaced in the family. Put your head down and do only the job you can do. If you’re seeking to pay off credit card debt, put your head down and go for it. Don’t be distracted by the latest and greatest. Whatever God has called you to do, do it. Your calling is yours alone. There will be detractors and distractions, but anything good is worth fighting for—and protecting. So, ask God to speak to you through His Spirit, to show you any distractions for what they are. And ask Him to give you the strength to keep going. Heaven is cheering you on as you stay faithful.

About this Plan
No matter how we feel about a new year, it can offer a fresh start. Maybe God has something for you in this season. Maybe the Holy Spirit might be pointing something out for you. We all want to live for what truly matters, and maybe God can use this year’s fresh start to help us point our lives more in that direction.
