Fresh Startنموونە
A short time ago, a Christian author became popular for revisiting a principle Paul wrote about to the Thessalonians—gratitude. She re-introduced the practice of being grateful. Her book revolved around the idea that every day, she would write down five unique things to be grateful for until she reached one thousand. At first, the search for five unique things was easy. But soon it became a gratitude hunt—every day she was on the lookout for good things. And it changed her entire perspective on her life. She was constantly looking for things to thank God for.
As we seek to initiate a fresh start in our lives, consider starting the same practice. James 1:17 tells us, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights.” So, as you start to notice the good things in your life, you will be on a hunt for the hand of God. He is the Author of your life’s good things. As you recognize the good things in your life, acknowledge the One who is giving them. Your Father loves to bless you, and gratitude is just the practice of recognizing the overflow of good gifts He is pouring out on you, His dear friend.

About this Plan
No matter how we feel about a new year, it can offer a fresh start. Maybe God has something for you in this season. Maybe the Holy Spirit might be pointing something out for you. We all want to live for what truly matters, and maybe God can use this year’s fresh start to help us point our lives more in that direction.
