Faith & Love: A One Year Bible Reading Plan - Part 11نموونە
Today’s chapter is 2 Thessalonians 3, and today’s verse of the day is:
2 Thessalonians 3:1: "Finally, brothers and sisters, pray continually for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be honored."
Paul talks to his church about becoming lazy – not working and just waiting for Jesus to come. He is using strong words like “Whoever will not work should not be allowed to eat.”
I am a principal, and I always say to the learners in my school that it is easy to do nothing; every person can do that. Being passive, watching television, and doing nothing leads to not reaching your goals and achieving your results.
For believers, it is easy to become lazy and be in a comfort zone, like watching church online at home in our La-Z-Boy and not attending church, not reading the Bible, or praying continuously. The result is that you do not have fellowship with like-minded people, and you might not grow spiritually.
Paul makes a statement in Verse 13: "Brothers and sisters, never get tired of doing good." Thank you to those who are not tired!
Paul is talking about living a disciplined life. A fruitful life. Reach out and get involved.
I want to challenge you today: let us as believers not grow tired of spending time in the Word, filling our spiritual cups. We should spread the word of God, like participating in this Bible reading plan. Be part of a local church community. Let us live a life of discipline and purpose to spread the Gospel.
