Strong as a Motherنموونە
Have you ever seen a wave come crashing onto the seashore? It’s an unstoppable force spreading water without discretion. The word abound finds its roots in words like “wave,” “surge” and “overflow”. In this scripture, the writer of Romans is laying out a picture of a life overflowing with hope, spreading it around without concern or reservation. And there seems to be a bit of a recipe card for that kind of hope; for God to fill you with joy and peace.
Joy and peace are not always easy to come by. Neither is hope if we are honest. The key to both, according to this scripture, is connecting with God. The writer starts off by saying that God will fill you up with joy and peace, so right now might be a good moment to stop trying to find them on your own. They go on to say that this abounding hope that can be yours comes through the power of the Holy Spirit.
So lean into God today, momma. The joy that you’re chasing, that peace you desire, the hope so deeply needed is all found in Him.
Heavenly Father, I need You today. Fill me with Your joy and peace. I lay everything else at Your feet. Holy Spirit, thank You for your power in my life, give me crashing waves of hope in my life. Amen.
