Strong as a Mother

DAY 15 OF 21

I love a good closet cleanout. There is a very liberating feeling that comes from those three piles: keep here, give away, throw away; I can really get into a flow and start clearing things out. One time, I was deep in a cleanout zone and got a little carried away. In all of the excitement, I ended up getting rid of a dress that I liked a lot and was one of my husband’s favorites. When we are careless, we tend to throw out good things in life.

Here in Hebrews is today’s reminder: be careful with yourself and take care of your confidence. For all of its tough parading, confidence is a pretty tender little thing, isn’t she? All it can take is a project that didn’t turn out just right, a call from your sister, or a scan through old photos, and suddenly confidence is fleeting. The writer of Hebrews knows that and reminds us to hold on to our confidence. The product of our confidence is the ability to do the will of God, something that gives us great reward.

May you hold fast to your confidence and be strengthened today.

Dear God, help me to value the confidence that You have given me. I ask for focus. Help me to not be careless. Guard me from anything that would try to steal my confidence in You. In Jesus Name, Amen.

About this Plan

Strong as a Mother

Mothers' strength awes me as they manage life, carry others, and handle countless responsibilities. Your strength, spirit, and love inspire me to be a better mom. This devotional offers inspiration and practical support. May your strength renew itself daily. As you connect with Jesus, hear His voice, and remember, the Father sees your unseen efforts. If ever uncertain, know that I believe in your strength as a mother. - Pastor Meredith
