Strong as a Motherنموونە
I would like to proclaim something from a rooftop, just once. It seems so grand. It's just not really done as much in 21st-century America, so I am not sure that I will ever get the chance. The whole point of the picture in today’s verse is to boldly declare Jesus to those around us. All of the wonderful things that Christ has spoken to you in secret, quiet places, it's time to share them. The challenge of this scripture to early disciples is the same challenge issued to us today -- declare the goodness of Jesus.
Maybe you won’t actually stand on a rooftop -- I don’t really recommend it. I bet you could embody the boldness of the action and carry it to places God has you. This faith that we have is not for keeping in the hidden places of our early mornings or evening hours; it is for yelling out in the streets. So whether you find yourself at the playground or boardroom today, be sure to declare Jesus.
Here's a prayer:
God, thank You for every word You have spoken to me in private. Thank You for how You love me and care for me. I want to boldly proclaim You to others. Where can I be a witness for You today?
Amen.
