Strong as a Motherنموونە
A few years back I started this habit. Whenever I purchase a new clothing item, before it can go into my closet, one item that has well and truly served its purpose must come out. As much as we might try, multiple things just cannot occupy the same space.
When Jesus entered the picture, some of John’s followers were still unclear about what was happening. John, however, was not. John knew that his purpose was to prepare a way for Jesus. With his purpose now complete, John stepped aside to make room. Because, just like my sweaters, two people cannot occupy the same space.
Jesus is still looking to fill up space in your life. But I wonder if you are making room for Him? If you are decreasing so that He can increase in your life? Take a moment today and evaluate what things in your life are taking up space and need to decrease. It could be physical things that occupy too much of your life, unhealthy relationships, an out-of-control calendar, or even your own ego taking up space that Jesus wants to fill. I invite you, sister, to decrease so that He can increase.
Jesus, I want You to fill every area of my life. Reveal to me the places in my life that are taking up too much space. Help me let go of anything that keeps me from You. You are welcome in my life. Amen.
