God Is Good
A.W. Tozer was right. He said that what comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.
Why? Because if we see God as a cosmic policeman, we’ll always be walking on eggshells. If we see Him as a harsh judge, we’ll always feel guilty. If we see Him just as a distant and uninvolved creator, we’ll have a hard time believing a Heavenly Father loves us.
Our view of God shapes every belief, relationship, perception, attitude, decision . . . everything.
Thankfully, God has not hidden Himself in the heavens. He wants to be known. He has revealed Himself to us through Scripture, nature, and His Son, Jesus.
God created us human beings and pursued our hearts throughout history specifically to share who He is and have a relationship with us. That’s how we’re designed: for deep, personal intimacy with Him!
But we can’t have that kind of relationship with God unless we trust Him implicitly. And we can’t trust Him unless we believe He is good.
“And the Lord said, 'I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence'. . .” (Exodus 33:19)
What would your life look like if you truly believed a good God is longing to give you His absolute best?
How would it affect:
· Your attitudes?
· Your hopes?
· Your decisions?
· Your motivation?
· Your willingness to trust and love others?
· Your ability to love yourself?
You’d find it easier to have faith, wouldn’t you? You’d live with hope and anticipation. You’d feel safe. You’d walk in confidence and security as a child who is adored.
God is for you, not against you. He is generous, extravagant, eager to bless and to save. Will you meditate on that truth today? Let yourself live in that assurance and deepen your relationship with the real God!
