Praying God's Word Over Your Kids: Part 3

DAY 3 OF 7

Over two decades ago, I was listening to a pastor explain what righteousness was. In the simplest terms, he said, “Righteousness is right-way-ness. It’s doing things in the right way.” He equated the right way to God’s way. Over the years I have found comfort in this because while many think righteousness means perfection, it does not. It simply means making the effort to do the right thing.

As we act righteously, one of the products that come from such actions is being an encourager to those around us. We encourage others in the way we live and in the things we say. Sometimes the recipient of our encouragement is feeling down and needs our kind words or actions. We encourage others by offering them some of our courage—a courage transplant if you will.

As I’ve said before, our words can either build up or tear down. May we choose to do what is right and encourage those around us so that our children will follow suit.

●Blessed is ____________ who acts justly, who always does what is right. (Psalm 106:3)

●Blessed is ____________ who hungers and thirsts for righteousness, for he will be filled. (Matthew 5:6)

●____________ will encourage others daily as long as it is called “today” so that no one, ____________ included, will be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. (Hebrews 3:13)

About this Plan

Praying God's Word Over Your Kids: Part 3

Praying for our children is instinctual as parents. We are constantly praying for their health, well being and happiness. All of those are great, but let's go deeper in our prayers for them. As Jesus followers, the Word of God is our foundation for truth and because of that, it makes sense that we should use it as our guide. Join Cindy as she shares prayers with you that she has prayed over her three sons and walk in faith that you will see it all come to pass in your own children's lives.
