Speak Over Me

DAY 3 OF 7

Jesus Speaks Healing

It is very interesting how in the book of Matthew, chapter 8, there is a strong desire in Jesus to heal people. During His ministry of 3 years on Earth, Jesus demonstrated that He wanted to bring about as much healing as possible before going to heaven. Jesus showed that He loved people. He would eat, laugh, cry, and hug people. He was surrounded by people because He was willing to do anything to see lives healed, freed, saved, and connected with His Father, God. He did this to the point that He went to the cross and was crucified for all of us.

A leper approached Jesus and said, “Master, if you want to, you can heal my body.” Let’s remember that in Bible times, lepers were to remain out of the city and claim themselves as unclean. Nobody could touch them. But Jesus, extended His hand and touched him. Jesus did something special for someone who had not been touched for so long. While He touched him, he said, “I want to. Be clean.”

Matthew continues narrating about a different event, in which a panicked Roman captain approached Jesus about his servant who was sick and in terrible pain. Jesus said, “I want to heal him.”

When Jesus saw Peter’s mother-in-law sick in bed, burning with fever, the Bible says that He touched her hand, and the fever was gone. Jesus is available for those who need healing.

He later rebuked demons from people because He wanted them to live free. He continued healing people and even calmed a storm. There are many more miracles of Jesus that were never reported. The fact that He wanted to heal the sick continues to be valid in His heart today. He wants to heal and dispel your sickness. Receive health and life through your faith in Him. When He speaks there is transformation.
