The Father Speaks Affirmation
Affirmation is one of God’s strongest characteristics. It’s associated with His grand love for us. When God affirms us, He does it so we know how valuable we are to Him. The first words that Jesus heard before beginning His ministry were of His Father. The moment He was submerged in the water when John the Baptist baptized him in the Jordan River, He heard God’s voice say, “This is my beloved Son, I am very pleased with Him.”
When God affirms, it is to remind us of our identity. A reminder that we are His children and He our Father. He made us the living church, gave us his nature, chose us even before the foundation of the earth, and loves us with an eternal love. The Father does not accuse, he affirms. He accepts and gives us a position in Christ. He puts us in celestial places right next to Him, so that our position governs the circumstances, not the other way around.
We are God’s beautiful creation and made to accomplish extraordinary goals that glorify His name. Actually, the apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians that He prepared the good work beforehand so that we could be in it; which means we were made capable to do what He had anticipated for us to do. Do not doubt what God says about you. His affirmation becomes the fuel our inner being needs to reach the maximum potential for what we were designed.
Life is like a laboratory where we must confront situations that we would never know we could handle, until we have no other choice. Every situation should bring out what God has deposited in you: His love, forgiveness, wisdom, justice, and an attitude to help others. God knows you can do it because He qualified you. You are His chosen lineage, made and called with a purpose. God will always speak to shine and light up the characteristics He placed in you, just like He spoke to Gideon and called him brave warrior.
