Oil transformed this small nation of 10,000,000 from a poor, rural region to a glittering center of Arab power and wealth. While the few at the top live with incredible wealth, millions of migrant laborers often work in terrible conditions. Injustice, human rights violations, and human trafficking are significant challenges.

The Church is small but powerful in the Spirit. With over 1,100,000 believers, it is comprised mostly of immigrants who work for little and face enormous financial challenges. Renting a place to worship together is a constant difficulty.

Christians have opportunities for discreet sharing as the nation becomes more open and international. However, arrests, imprisonment, and deportation still occur for those who evangelize or distribute Christian literature unwisely.

Prayer Points to Consider:

• Many come to this land in pursuit of money and wealth. Pray for an indigenous movement of believers on the ground to look up from their pursuit of material wealth and have a fresh desire to see opportunities to share the Gospel with those around them.
• Pray for a fresh anointing and release of new workers to reach the nation’s young people with God’s infinite love and introduce them to the thrilling and transforming work of the Holy Spirit.
• Ask Lord Jesus to strengthen the immigrant church from within, by the power of His Word, sincere fellowship, and vibrant worship. Also request that meeting places be secured, financed, and protected, drawing unbelievers to their doors.
• Pray that Christians who arrive in the UAE, either as tourists or as laborers, have opportunities to wisely be a light and witness wherever they go.
• Ask Father for divine manifestations of dreams, visions, and encounters with Lord Jesus to reach the unreached and stir up a desire to know Him as the Truth.

Dear Heavenly Father...I pray for the United Arab Emirates today. It is truly a melting pot of many nationalities coming together, both from believing backgrounds and those who don’t know You yet. I pray for Your people and for church leaders to be filled with the Holy Spirit, learning to wait in Your presence and Your Word as they seek Your guidance, leading, and wisdom. I come against any spirits of resistance to the Gospel ______ (name them as the Spirit provides you with His discernment), canceling their work in Jesus’ Name! May an unquenchable hunger to know Jesus as the only truth sweep across this nation, reaching every person in every corner of the land until they know YOU. Amen!
