Journey With Jesus 365নমুনা
The Parable of the Lost Sheep can be compared with the story in Luke 15:3–7. Jesus “is come to save that which was lost”—all lost people, including little children. In this passage, Jesus is specifically speaking about “the little ones”, as well as others. This teaching continues the discussion from the beginning of the chapter.
Children often do not contribute as much money to the church, nor do they have as much influence. One cannot be certain what any particular child will achieve in this world. There are many reasons why children may be overlooked by those dedicated to witnessing. It may seem that children will have more time and opportunities to be saved, their hearts are not as hardened by sin, and they may not appear as guilty. Hell and eternal punishment often seem more immediate for an older sinner than for a younger one.
However, Jesus teaches that each little one should be sought after for Christ, like a single lost sheep on the mountains. In fact, the Savior implies that one might even give less attention to the 99 settled Christians in favor of winning one unsaved child. God is not content with the 99; He desires the whole 100. Every person matters to God—a little child, a criminal, the poor, the dirty, the ignorant, and the wicked all count. God calls us to reach the outer fringe.
In Luke 14:21–24, the servant was commanded not only to invite those first on the guest list but also to bring in the poor, the maimed, the lame, and the blind. He was to go beyond the main streets into the back alleys of the city and even out to the highways and hedges of the countryside to compel them to come in. As long as there is one unsaved child, every Sunday school teacher, Christian, and preacher has an essential task to fulfill.
Reflect on how you prioritize your time and attention in serving others. Are you focusing on those who seem settled in their faith while neglecting those who may need Christ the most? How can you adjust your focus?
How do you view the value of each person, regardless of their background or situation? What changes can you make to ensure you see and treat each individual as valuable to God?
What lessons can you learn from Jesus’ teaching about seeking the one lost sheep? How can this influence your approach to evangelism and outreach?
Who are the “lost sheep” in your life—whether in your family, community, or workplace—that need to be sought out for Christ? What actions can you take to reach them?
